Hi! My name is Brandon Burzon.

I graduated from Indiana University with a BS in Computer Science and specialization in programming languages. I worked as a software development engineer intern for Amazon in the summer of 2015, and again in 2016. I came back to Amazon in 2017 as a full-time SDE and completed my training to become a Security Certifier in 2018. My work focuses on raising the bar for security, as well as making our backend software run faster and cheaper while serving requests for millions of customers.

While most of my professional work has been dedicated to backend development, I also have experience building frontend UI's.

I'm passionate about writing clean code that is secure, scalable, efficient, and maintainable. I love learning about new and old technology, practices, and methodologies that helps me improve as a developer.

I've learned a lot from working with my team and gained a lot of experiences on creating/maintaining large scale applications. While I keep a wiki of things that I learned internally, not all of them are Amazon specific, so I am creating this site for me to share my thoughts with the community.

Among other things, I enjoy spending time with my wonderful wife (to be), walking by the lake, watching movies, and snowboarding. I also have a cat named Scootie, and a dog named Poopie (lol).

All opinions expressed on this website are my own and do not represent the opinions of Amazon, its partners or subsidiaries.
